Baby Infants – Such Wonderful Little People
When you have a brand new baby, there are so many changes that happen. The first year of life is when your baby is considered to be an infant. So much happens when during the baby infant's first year, and it's a good idea to know what to expect.
The word infant was derived from the Latin word infans which means "unable to speak or speechless". While baby infants will be able to say certain things during infancy, they will for the most part only be making sounds as they develop the skills needed for speech. Your baby will have very poor vision at first and will be quite nearsighted for a while, so there will be certain things that baby won't see clearly. Other motor skills develop in baby rather quickly with the correct stimuli.
During the first few months, baby infants will begin to hone their senses. They will use their sense of hearing to compensate for their poor sight at first. They should also be very involved in games that encourage the development of all senses. Encouraging your baby to explore will allow him to develop normally.
When he begins to be able to grasp things, it's important to have an assortment of grasping toys to help him further develop this skill. Each stage of development is crucial, as it allows for the next stage to take place. Without properly developing his grasping, he won't be able to stand as easily.
You should keep encouraging baby to grow and learn. Baby infants are sponges and they enjoy playing games that allow them to learn. It's critical to their development that they are exposed to different stimuli that will encourage the development of all senses. From hearing to sight to touch, all senses should be stimulated in baby.
